Multiple Supermarkets

For customers with multiple supermarkets, VME Retail recommends implementing IntelliStore Head Office running on a Microsoft Windows Server with MS SQL Server at your head office, connected to an IntelliStore Back Office in each store. The back office server will depend on the store size; for stores of less than 5 tills Microsoft Vista running MS SQL Express is sufficient and reduces costs, but for larger stores VME Retail recommend Microsoft Windows Server running MS SQL Server.

Each of the point of sale tills in your stores will run IntelliStore POS on your chosen OPOS compliant till hardware. VME Retail recommends and supplies IBM EPOS hardware, in particular the Anyplace Till.

Single Supermarkets

VME Retail have a number of customers who are using IntelliStore successfully in their own store. VME Retail recommend implementing IntelliStore Back Office on a MS Windows PC; for stores of up to and including 4 lanes VME recommend MS Windows Vista running MS SQL Express, and for stores of 5 lanes and over MS Windows Server running MS SQL Server is recommended.
